What is GOURI and what is PCL?
DEXLEVO, a company from South Korea, had invented the world's first liquid polymer filler, also known as GOURI. GOURI is made of liquid polycaprolactone (PCL), and the liquid state makes GOURI injectable.
PCL can be degraded by the human body and hence, its popular use as an implantable biomaterial.
PCL has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in specific applications used in the human body such as drug delivery device and sutures. There is also a PCL-based microsphere dermal filler belonging to the collagen stimulator class, also known as Ellansé.
By stimulating collagen product, PCL-based products can reverse facial ageing features such as volume loss and contour laxity, providing a good long-lasting natural effect.
As such, GOURI, also made of PCL, has anti-aging properties and is biodegradable as well. Being in a liquid form, GOURI can spread evenly throughout the entire face and hence promotes natural skin collagen synthesis, which helps your skin age more gracefully.
GOURI VS Dermal Fillers
GOURI is developed using DEXLEVO's Caollagenesis-Enabled Solubilized Active and Biodegradable Polymer Technology (CESABP) technology that enables regeneration of natural skin collagen without the use of microparticles.
There are hyaluronic acid (HA)- base fillers and PCL-base fillers. Dermal fillers may also have a regenerative impact on the collagen. Due to the nature and shape of particles, dermal filler cannot be injected evenly into the skin. As a result, these fillers are limited to focal areas only. For example, we can use Ellanse (a PCL-based filler) to fill up certain types of acne scars.
As such, GOURI is more for a generalized effect while dermal fillers are more targeted and focused on areas that have a specific volume defect.
GOURI VS Profhilo
While both GOURI and Profhilo only require 10 injection points, they are made of different substances. GOURI is made with fully solubilized liquid form of PCL while Profhilo is made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA). Profhilo can help with hydrating the skin as well as giving a gentle glow to the skin, while GOURI helps by giving a gentle lifting effect to the face in a generalized fashion.
Benefits of GOURI:
Fewer injection points, as compared to other types of skin injectables, except Profhilo which requires the same injection points
Transforms into a three-dimensional matrix and encourages fibroblasts formation
Stimulates new collagen production
Increases skin elasticity and rendering a gentle facelift
Treatment Procedure
GOURI is carefully injected into 5 specific points on each side of the patient's face. A layer of numbing cream will be applied prior to the procedure.
GOURI is a groundbreaking antiaging solution for the entire face, featuring the world's only solubilized, biodegradable, and biocompatible PCL injectable. It is not a filler with a localized impact or a temporary skin booster.
It spreads evenly throughout the entire face and promotes natural skin collagen synthesis, which helps your skin age more gracefully.
DEXLEVO's liquid polymer filler is unique among fillers in that it encourages skin collagen renewal. Existing fillers also have a regenerative impact on the collagen. However, because they are in the shape of particles, they cannot be injected evenly into the skin. As a result, these fillers are limited to topical areas such as the nasolabial folds. DEXLEVO, on the other hand, circumvented this constraint. When a liquid version of a high molecular component is injected into the skin, it can be used in various regions by rebuilding collagen around the skin and changing it into little particles within the skin.
DEXLEVO obtained a European CE registration for the liquid polymer filler 'GOURI' in the first half of 2021, creating the groundwork for its global market debut.
GOURI's primary characteristics include the following:
Collagen stimulator of the highest quality
PCL is available in a fully soluble liquid form (polycaprolactone)
NEOCOLLAGENESIS and its mechanism of action:
To begin, inject GOURI.
GOURI absorbs easily into the skin
It transforms into a three-dimensional matrix and encourages fibroblasts
Formation of new collagen
Increased skin elasticity and facelift
GOURI distributes naturally across the entire face:
There is no requirement for several injection locations.
There is no requirement to form the application portion.
After application, a gentle massage is sufficient.
